I bought one off of eBay. Sold by a seller who makes them. He could possibly be a member of this forum. Mine works very well. It's made out of aluminum. No modifications to the press to use it. It's a little pricey, but as I said it's well made and works very well so I think it's worth it. Spilled powder is a pain in the #$% and for me an impossible task without the shut off. If you do a eBay search, the seller is couragecara. He has another listed right now. Search "Star Reloading". There are a few pic's in the listing so you get an idea of how it fit's on the Star.

Personally, I would recommend the powder drain sold by maurilew a forum member.   It replaces the lid of your powder slide housing.  Well made and reasonably priced.

You can reach him by PM or at mlewis at sti dot net

Star Machine Works
Star, the original blue Press.  Made by machinist, not machines.

Greetings,

I contacted "courageca" on eBay regarding his product. He freely stated that the thread size was not original Star.

I would use great caution purchasing aftermarket items that do not have the proper threads.

With kind regards,

Dave

I have several of Ma's cutoffs, and I recommend them as well. Very nicely made and well thought out.
I second Bruce's pointer!
