Need help with safety cam spring
« on: December 12, 2009, 10:49:58 am »
New member, first post.  I have recently acquired a Star reloader and need help with attaching the safety cam.  I think the spring may be broken and was wondering if anyone could supply a picture of the spring and how it attaches.

I think I found my own answer.  Searched safety cam on the forum and found the answer, I think

I too had a question on that sprign. It took a bit to find the little hole where it fits into the frame, but once set up it works well.

Did you get yours working?

i found the hole but discovered the spring was broken off in it.  I drilled the broken piece of spring out of the hole, but the spring was too short to apply enough tension to operate the safety cam correctly.  So I screwed a small socket head screw into the hole to act as an extension.  I put the spring into the socket in the screw head and now I have an adjustable tension spring and the safety cam works correctly.  As the old saying goes, necessity is the mother of invention.
