My Star originated with my father in 1965. He had used another Star before he got his without a safety cam installed. It has never been installed on the press I still use. It is in a small plastic bag; might even be original.
We had/have a consistent routine we followed when reloading, start to finish. Neither my father or myself, have ever had a double charge, loading in excess of a 100,000 rounds in both .38 and .45.
I suppose this topic may have as much debate on thoughts about for powder shutoff's.
Do most reloaders use it or remove it? Beside the obvious, why or why not?
