Phelps Star ????
« on: January 03, 2012, 11:07:56 am »
Glad to have found this sight,we have an estate we are closing out with a lot of reloading equipment and were not sure what we have or what its worth.I will do my best to answer any questions.Reloader says Phelps Equipment Company,Appears to be a 45acp Phelps toolhead on loader also comes with a Star 38 SPL toolhead, another Phelps toolhead not sure what caliber it is, it looks to be missing some parts.I believe there is some of the primer parts missing on reloader. If someone can tell me whats a fair price thats what I will ask for it.We are a licensed FFL .

Thanks

I would be interested in one of the Star toolheads for $100.00.  I would not need the dies.

Rick
The Up-side-down head on the left is a Phelps..........The other Heads are Star Heads....
Can't tell about the head on the loader...............If you look at the botton of the head and
it looks like the one on the left, it's a Phelps, if not and it has a raised part on the bottom
around the column shaft hole, it's a Star.............. :o
The Loader is a Star Universal......... ;D

This Pic shows the bottom of a Phelps Head .... >  FLAT :o

Thanks Doc.

The tool head on the tool is Phelps and the tool has non Star features which I think is a Phelps.

Thank you

You're correct on the Tool Head..... ;D but I'm still curious about the Loader.. ???
It has a Standard Star Base, #11, I'm not certain about the #14 Shell Plate Thrust Nut,
I have a Phelps, I'll go look, It's a Phelps Thrust Nut........
I'm wondering why it has a Star Style Base Plate.. ??? A Phelps Base is a lot thicker... :-\

I believe 1 Shellplate is a Star and the other is a Phelps... ::)

My nickels worth.........

The powder cam and the powder cam base do not look like any of the nine ( 9 ) Stars that I have, so I think thar the complete tool is a Phelps.

Ok, you guys are correct...It's hard to tell if the Base Plate is thicker
than a Stars Base Plate........
