CRANK SHAFT BEARING & TOOL HEAD
« on: October 14, 2011, 01:31:59 am »
I'm inquiring about these two Holes............. ??? ???

A hole in the TOOL HEAD on the left side is un-threaded and about 3/4" down
from the top of the tool head........The Hole is Just below the Key, you would
have to tap the Key down to utilize that hole to remove the Key, these holes are
on my Star Tool Heads........ :o
The other screw hole I'm referring to is above the TAPER PIN hole at the rear of
the CRANK SHAFT BEARING, which is threaded............. :o

ANYBODY KNOW WHAT THESE HOLES WERE USED FOR ??? ???

Greetings,

My guess is that it is an end point for when they either broached or shaped the key slot to providing an exit for the cutting tool.

Cheers,
