Universal in 9mm for sale
« on: August 16, 2011, 11:58:02 am »
I have 2 Star Universal presses and find need of more rifle reloading ability.
This is a 9mm Universal with an old style indexer (brand unknown) and a case feeder w/o the funnel.
Powder bar is adjustable

Price is $800 + insured shipping to you.  Contact me via PM if interested.

I have two ( which I do not intend to sell ) and it seems that to me that you may be a bit pricey.

cc656d - I don't think I agree with you. Most people price a basic universal set up with 9mm, stripped (less case feeder ($100+), indexer (100+), adjustable powder slide ($100+) for around $500. That is about a $50 premium over a .45 machine. This looks to be a pretty nice set-up so I can't see where the price is enough out of line to comment negatively. What do you think it would cost to replace either of yours, realistically? Be specific, please.
YMMV (your mileage may vary)

Not really sure as I don't see them ever here it GA.

It also may reflect that I am not over anxious to send it out the door  :)

Years ago, it was fixed to the bench but my new area doesn't let me keep my loaders setup all the time.  So, I never go the indexer running again and don't load enough 9mm to devote the time.

That price is not out of line at all. The Star is no longer being made and that in itself makes the price reasonable. The 1986 prices on the attachments that are shown with that machine are. Hulme case feeder $150.00, MA System shell plate rotator $129.00, MA System case ejector $36.00. Those attachments are also very hard to acquire. With the attachments shown and working properly makes it a fully progressive machine in that only the bullet placement is necessary.

the old man that sold me my 45acp universal insisted on $1000.00 it only had a case feeder. i was fool enough to pay it. i'm happy though i guess, it was a face to face local deal, and he ran me through how to use it. 9mm tool head purchased the same day was additional.

Have had a couple of questions about this machine

It does have a Lifetyme sizing die
It does come with one Star brass primer pickup tube (will look for another)
