Loading .308Win on a Star?
« on: August 22, 2011, 02:21:12 pm »
Does anyone here load .308Win on their Star Universal?

I am guessing it might be possible when the resizing is done elsewhere, provided there is enough clearance. Am also assuming someone here who makes dies can make them in .308 for me. Thanx in advance.

The next thing you need to think about is the powder measure!

Yeah, I'm not sure how you are going to get 40+ grains of something out of the powder bar (at least as my universal exists).

I have seen references to guys loading .223 which gets you 1/2 way there or so on powder.

I could possibly fix you up with a 3/4 or 1in powder bar with bushings and  housing, would take some heavy thinking, oh well, I do have time to think.

A 5/8'' housing with double spacers would make about 1".
