A question was raised on another site about Star lube sizers. Many statements have been made about how the new Magma machines use an aluminum casting for the lube chamber or the base or ? while the older San Diego machines used one made of iron. I have an old SD lube sizer and the unit has a lot of aluminum parts in it. The base is definitely aluminum but the lube cylinder is steel. Would any of you care to explain the difference between the older machines and the newer Magma made machines? Also, if there was a transition period from steel or iron to aluminum, when did this take place?
