Just bought a Star have some questions
« on: April 08, 2016, 08:29:59 pm »
I just bought a Star set up for 45 with a 38 head and shell plate included. I'm a Dillon user so I have a lot of experience with progressive loaders. But I have the following questions and would appreciate some help
Do you rotate the turret by hand, or am I missing some parts, the arm with the spring on the left side is not hooked, I downloaded the manual but it's not clear to me how it is supposed to work
I didn't get the parts needed to convert to small pistol primers does some on sell them?
Does anyone make dies for 40 s&w or 44, 45LC  or 9 mm?
Are there any good videos on the Stars available?

Do a search for Bruce Williams he now owns Star Machine Works. He has everything you will need. Dave wilson will make any set of dies you need.

Yes you move the shell plate by hand after each pull of the handle.
The item on the left is the safety cam. Many remove this part as unnecessary. It blocks operation until the loaded round is removed.

Bruce is on this site as RBWILLNJ

Dave is on this site as FC60

You also have Rich Daniels who makes parts also, on this site as BARRELTESTER

All three are very good reputable resources for quality parts and/or accessories.
