I just won a star sizer on ebay for $250 plus $11 shipping. It came with a top punch and a .451 die. is that a fair price for a used star??

here are some images of it. http://s1300.photobucket.com/albums/ag94/mafuki/

please let me know what you think.

also the .451 die is for sale.

Looks like a very late model original Star.  The same thing from Magma would cost you $370 plus shipping.

Star, the original blue Press.  Made by machinist, not machines.

Let say the sizing die and top punch would cost you 45 dollars, used.  That puts the sizer at $216 shipped.

It is a newer Star and in very nice condition, and I can tell you from experience that the achillies heal on the machine (lube pump), is much easier to fix on yours than on the older model.  On the older ones, the pump and sleeve are held in place via blind pin.  It had to be drilled out to remove.

Fair price?  I would say its a good price.  You will get a lifetime of use out of it.  -- Also keep in mind that a new one from Magma Engneering will cost you $295 + shipping!...and without any dies!  Dies are extra $45.  http://www.magmaengineering.com/component/banners/click/14/
