Hi: I guess you mean you inherited a pistol in 38 super caliber?
The cartridges for 38 spl (a rimed) case and the 38 super ( a rimless case ) are quite different in size and powder charge.
Recommend your get a reloading manual if you don't have one at this time. I like Lyman's 47th Reloading Handbook .... this has all the information you could ever need.
If you want to load 38 super on your Star set up for45acp , you will need a 3pc small primer set and dies and a shell plate for the Super. If you want to convert a 38 spl machine to 38 super you need a shell plate and set of dies.
Recently there was a Star in 38 Super for sale on the internet, I was tempted to buy this and restore to like new condition for sale, but decided the demand for 38 super is not too strong.
Unless you plan to shoot a lot or 38 super, the least expensive option is a 'single stage press' with dies for 38 super, etc, RCBS is a good choice.
Hope I've answered your question.
