Introduction and First Question
« on: August 10, 2012, 09:20:34 pm »
Hi Everybody,

This is my first post in this forum. I do a lot of gunsmithing and building. 1911s and ARs from scratch. Trigger jobs on anything imaginable, but I'm old-school at heart. Wheelguns all the way. Even though they wont let me use one at work. haha

I just received the most generous gift. A friend of mine gave me one of his first presses that he used to start his reloading business. He since sold all of his equiptment and retired but let me have this piece he got back from one of the people he sold it to.

It's a Star press for .38 Specials which appears to be fully funcitonal and he refused to let me pay him a dime!!! He s a great man.

Anyways, its missing the tube for the bullet feeder and one or two of the dies. I'm also looking for some different bars for the powder measure to switch to a different powder.

Does anyone know where I could find these things???

Thanks,

AAAA75

Most folks just pick up some plastic tube from a local plastic supplier.  You can also get some from McMaster Carr.  Look for some clear ridged tube with a half inch ID.  If your interested, I have an extra Free Loader for sale.  I also have an extra set of 38 Special Dies with a Carbide sizing die, and a few extra powder bars.

I'll send you an email.
