Lee makes Star dies...Who knew?

Wow!  Did anyone else know about this, or have I been living in the woods for too long?  I hope it is not a joke.   I thought you folks might be interested...

Lee made a run many years ago, and only of sizing dies.  What they have are sizing dies with no decapping assembly.  I believe they made them for Bill Cunningham, but he didn't take them all.  Lee is just trying to get rid of the inventory and they have no plans to make more.

I bought a 40 S&W die set from Bill Cunningham back in 2005.  It came with a Lee sizing die, that I'm still using, but the rest of the set was Star.   The 40 S&W taper crimp die that I have for sale in the WTB/WTS area is from that set.  I replaced it with a Case Kicker friendly die from Dave Wilson.

I haven't had any problems with the Lee die, but Dave's are nicer.

CH4D made a run of 60 sets of Star dies in 2008, they still had a few left in 2011 and were planning another run.Redding also in late 2010 had some taper crimp dies in stock in 380 auto(x4), 30M1(x4) and 44mag/44 special(x2) but were not going to make any more.
The above is posted for interest......I bought my dies off Dave (FC60 this forum) and would do the same again, quality and workmanship is flawless.
