9 m/m lifetime
« on: November 19, 2011, 09:36:24 pm »
I was doing inventory in prep to order parts and I noticed that the sizing die on my #2  9 m/m Lifetime die appears to be chrome plated with carbide insert. Has anyone ever seen this?

Greetings,

Sounds like yours is the same as mine. Lifetyme chrome plated the die bodies on some.

The one I have has a large piece of Carbide the actually sticks out of the die about 1/10".

Cheers,

Dave

I would have to say that the vast majority of Lifetyme dies of all calibers that have passed through my hands have a satin chrome plated finish.

I have had a few that are not chrome plated, but they are the exception.

Dave

Mine appears the same with the carbide insert protruding out the bottom. I did not know that Star ( Lifetime ) high luster chrome plated their dies

Greetings,

Thanks for the memory jog.

I do have a 38 Special Lifetyme die that is a high polish chrome finish. All my other dies have the bead blast satin finish.

Cheers,

Dave
