Converting Star Heads
« on: January 10, 2011, 01:50:48 am »
Greetings
I've been loading since the 50's, Lyman, Star while on the Police Dept &/Camdex, then at home, a Dillon RL-1050...Just recently I recovered my Star that I had on the Police Dept........Parts missing............
Since parts are scarce, will converting the Head from 7/8"x14 TPI  to  11/16"x24 TPI  cause any problems
down the line....I have a extra head that my friend who is a great machinist re-thread the head...
What say you guys. ??? :o ::)
Regards
Alan 'Doc'
Sorry I got that  'BACKWARDS'
So, I assuming Star Dies are 11/64x24 and standard Dies are 7/8x14... ;D

Greetings,

Personally, I would not modify the Star. If you want to use 7/8-14 dies, buy another Dillon. You can sell the Star easily on this forum or eBay.

With kind regards,
