I use a piece of heavy aluminum "C" channel as a mount for my Star(S). It started life as the bumper of a Freightliner. I drill and tap mounting holes for all the accessories and bolt it on. I find it heavy enough that I don't have to clamp it to the bench, but light enought that it can be moved as necessary.

Hi John:
Re delay in getting parts, it is a bit tricky to answer. I got the Dillon feeder three or four years ago, and delivery was quite quick. But, I ordered it through a dealer friend and that probably helped. I do feel that there are longer delays nowadays...
For interest, when I ordered my first Star, you paid up front, then waited patiently for 18 -24 months for your machine to arrive.

Hi John:
I found the info. Mine is a Dillon XL650 case feeder:

I got the large and the small pistol plates with it, and have been well satisfied.

Hi John:
The reason that there is only one tube into the Hulme case feeder is that the Dillon has a huge bucket on top with a revolving plate which orients the cases base down. It then rotates over the "down tube" until it has filled the tube and it is stopped by a micro switch. As the tube empties, the Dillon switches on and stops when the tube is filled again. There is no user intervention, all is automatic. I did at one time use the bowl and funnel, which is a great low cost option, but for quantity loading the Dillon is the way to go in my opinion. I will check the model number in a day or so and post. The Dillon, I admit is a bit pricy, but I think worth it.

Star Reloaders / Re: Finished Round Counter

I have one on my Star. It is a simple mechanical, lever operated counter which came off a Pfaff knitting machine, if I recall correctly. I made a holder for it so that it can be moved up and down in relation to the bottom surface of the head. I fabricated an "L" shaped lever to contact the underside of the head and to operate the counter.
