Loading Data & Reloading Procedures / Re: Bullet Pushback 45 ACP

Got the new plug, but no joy.

The RP brass is not sized down enough by the lifetyme sizer to hold the Hornady 185 gr .451 bullet.
Bullet drops right into the case and keeps going after sizing and before expanding.
I can adjust the taper crimp to size mouth to 458 or so...probably not the best for 50 yard groups though.

Cast or swaged lead bullets do not do the same with the RP cases and provide a tight fit.

So, given the Star setup, anyone have an undersize sizing die?
Guess I could go back to the lead bullets on the Star press.  Thanks

I will try my Dillon 1050....

Ok ran the specs. Tapered post from .449 to .451 right before the bell.

Took a couple of cases that had loose bullets to another set of dies Saeco Stubbies actually. I cannot push the bullet back.

Anyone have an idea where I can locate a expander plug .449 please? Thanks

Hello switched to 185 GR Hornadys Jacketed bullets.

RP some TZZ IMI will not grip the bullet. I can push it into the case with my thumb.

Loaded lots of cast and swaged bullets, with no problem. WCC Federal cases seem fine.

Went back to basics, readjusted all the dies. No luck.

Lifetyme die set. Phelps.

Any suggestions? Any one else have same problem?

Thanks

Bruce;
I need three of the BRASS adaptors. Send me an invoice, or which ever way you want to do it, and I will pay you which ever way you want me to.

Still have some in Stock

I sell an adapter that lets you mount the Lee Case Feeder to you reloader.   The Lee Collator works in much the same way as the Freeloader in that you dump in handfuls of brass, and they turn bottom side down and fall into the tube.  The Lee case feeder has four tubes which can be rotated into position in turn as each is empty.

I supply the adapter along with an 11" piece of polycarbonate tube to connect the adapter to the Hulme case feeder.

With the supplied polycarbonate tube and the appropriate Hulme top plate this system can be used for all calibers except 44 Magnum, 45 Colt and 45 Auto Rim.   If you use a piece of Hulme case feeder tube in place of the supplied polycarbonate tube, you can use the system for those calibers as well.

The adapter is available in Aluminum for $25, or Brass for $40 add $9.00 Shipping for either.   If you don't need the tube, shipping is $5.15

You will need the Lee Case Feeder for Large Pistol and the Lee Collator.  Together they come to about $30 plus shipping.
Here are the Midway links for the Lee products you need;
