Loading Data & Reloading Procedures / Battle of the bulging brass
« on: April 07, 2025, 03:39:19 pm »
I’m looking for some advice,
I’m reloading 9mm on a newer Star, thanks Bruce! And 45 Auto on a Phelps. My range pickup brass in both calibers sometimes has a ‘Glock bulge’ at the base. The brass runs through my presses without any trouble but hangs up in tight chambers.

I’m looking for a on-press solution to eliminate the bulge.
I’ve already readjusted my sizing die down to contact the shell plate.
Can I have the sizing die ground down?
Does anyone use an undersize die, that can be threaded onto a star?
Does anyone use a Factory crimp die on their Star?

What do you experienced loaders recommend?

Thank you!

Star Reloaders / How do you catch rounds after case kicker?
« on: February 21, 2012, 12:41:18 pm »
Hello,
Last week I finally installed one of Ray Brandis' case kickers, and it works great.  Maybe too great... it throws the completed rounds off the bench.  I butchered a soda bottle to direct the rounds into a bin under the bench.  It works, but I'm sure one of you figured out something better.

Please share your solutions on how to catch the completed rounds.

I found this post on glocktalk for a star press, and thought someone here might be interested.
