Star Lubricator & Resizers / Re: Getting Ready to Buy My First
« on: July 26, 2010, 05:54:04 pm »
This is an old post but the Star lube/sizer is certainly current. I use a Lyman heater. It has no thermostat and really needs one for best results. I put a simple rheostat on mine and leave it set at one place for excellent results. Trial and error will have you "up and running" in no time.

You can buy a simple electrical outlet box and install a light dimmer switch in it together with a socket. You merely plug the heater into the box, and plug the rheostat box into the power outlet.

It is much less expensive than Magma's heater and works as well.

Just a thought or two...

Your set up sure looks well thought out and a very practical approach to the project. Did you fabricate the bracket yourself?

By the way, thanks for your response and photos. That should help a bunch.

I am about to install a Lee Case Collator to a standard (.38 Special, only) Star Reloading Press. If anyone has done this and has any suggestions I would appreciate any tips you have. I'll have to make some kind of bracket to hold the Lee (the press has the Hulme case feeder attached, so I am good there).

I'll be watching for any help you can offer.
