Stars Want to Sell/Want to Buy / WTB Hulme or Brewster Indexer
« on: February 24, 2015, 04:06:04 pm »
I would like to buy either a Hulme or a Brewster shellplate indexer that is in good operating condition. Have a couple of Hoyer indexers and would like another one for the 30 carbine Star if anyone has one that they could part with.  Thanks

Star Reloaders / Case Ejector Simplified
« on: February 23, 2015, 03:06:39 pm »
A  case ejector can be made by screwing to the top of the safety cam post a cotter pin that is long enough to reach about the middle of the shellplate. The screw that holds the safety cam was used and then adjust the angle of the pin to the shellplate to slide the the loaded round off the plate as it is indexed to that station.  Takes about a minute to install and adjust and the cotter pin cost less than 40 cents!!
Have reloaded over 500 .30 carbine rounds without a hitch and it is sure cheaper that the ejectors I have purchased for my other Stars- one of which I had to return for repair after I broke it.

I'll take it if it is still available.  I have been looking for a Universal Star to set up for .38 and other small primer loads such as 9mm.  I have a Star set up for 45 with a Hoyer indexer and Hulme case feeder and I think thaey are the best reloaders ever made.
Please pm me so that I'll know how and to where you would like payment.
Thank you,

Loading Data & Reloading Procedures / Cleaning fired Brass Hulls
« on: February 05, 2013, 09:54:13 am »
Many of you might alrady know this, but a cheaper source than from shooting supply companies of both corn cob media and walnut media for cleaning your fired brass can be locally purchased from places like Pet Supplies Plus and Pet's Smart.
The English Walnut Shells are used for desert dwelling reptiles and cost $10.98 for a 10 quart bag.  These shells are ground much finer than the corn cob shells.  The corn cob media, used for pet litter, is the same price and the bag contains 9.9 quarts..   The corn cob litter is somewhat courser than what I have been purchasing from the shooting supply houses and works faster and better in my tumbler.
Instead of buying brass polish to give my shells a shiny protective coating, I just put a cap full of the car wax, Nu Finish in the tumble when I tumble the brass.

There is a .45 colt shellplate listed on ebay.

I'll take it if it is available.

Need a set of .45 acp dies for my Star. I have a set of .38 dies that I can sell or trade.  Also need all the parts to convert from small primer to large primer.
