Title: Finished Round Counter
Post by: Star73 on April 15, 2009, 03:01:04 pm
Do any of you use a counter? Can anyone advise a good, cheap source for one?

I have one on my Star. It is a simple mechanical, lever operated counter which came off a Pfaff knitting machine, if I recall correctly. I made a holder for it so that it can be moved up and down in relation to the bottom surface of the head. I fabricated an "L" shaped lever to contact the underside of the head and to operate the counter.

Thanks!

Wish the factory where I worked was still in operation as we had em on our knitters & sev other prod line machines. Looks like yours is in nice shape.

Dillon sells a counter, I believe it was accuated with a rod that went down thru a die, so it was case acctivated, got one from several years ago I had on a 1050.

I have a Dillon counter that is not used.  It is case actuated as Swannee mentioned.
I do not use it, as I personally did not see a need for it, but that of course is a personal choice.
If you can figure out a way to utilize it, I would be open to disposing of it reasonably.
