I inherited a Star with a 45 and 357 head- I want to convert the 357 to 9mm.

Greetings,
You will need the following...
- Shell Plate
- Carbide Sizing Die
- Expander Plug
- Seating Die and matching bullet stem.
- Taper Crimping Die
Once you have all the bits and pieces, just merely adjust the shell straps to suit.
You might find it useful to size the cases on a single stage press beforehand. Being a tapered case, you need to use a little case lube and doing this on the press in one operation gets messy.
Cheers,
Dave

Bruce Willims may have what you need. RBWillNJ on the site.
He is a great resource for everything Star.

Have you found it necessary to lube? Any particulars?
I have a 9mm set up with Carbide dies, and do not lube the case. So far have had no problems.
Using a coated S&S bullet. Needed to adjust for the coating to seat correctly, but have not lubed.
Always open to ideas and suggestions!

I have found that dropping a lubed case into the machine about every 20-25 cases will make it easier to pull the handle.
Cheers.
Good Shooting
