Title: New to star reloaders

  I new in this form and needing some help with a star universal loader. I just picked up one that needs a few parts and tlc. Im slowly taking a piece off at a time and cleaning the surface rust with a wire wheel and some parts glass beading them. Where can I get parts? Is there some one near Sarasota Fl that could help me fix and set up this loader?

There are a number of sources for parts.

Bill Cunningham purchased the Star Reloader inventory and has quite a few pieces remaining.

Richard Daniels (barrel tester) was machining shell plates; but, is currently moving his shop to another location. He may have some inventory remaining.

Myself, (fc60), I machine replica die sets. I have also machined other small parts to fit the Star.

In summary, just place a "WANTED" posting on the Forum and someone will probably come to your aid.

Here is a picture. Is this a star reloader? Im looking for parts to make it work and new to this and need some help.

A few more pictures would help, but based on what I see, I would say that you have a homemade copy of a Star.

It is possible that the steel base and column are original Star and the rest was made to fit.  We would need to see more pictures to know for sure.

The aluminum base, the tool head, and the crank assembly are not Star, Phelps, Berdon, or CPM.   If there was another company that made clones of Stars, I'm not familiar with them, and have never seen a similar example. 

Is the tool head and crank assembly cast iron or cast aluminum?

So unless you have them and they are not pictured, it looks like you need a primer magazine and a powder magazine.   I can't say if Star parts would work, but they might.   The Star powder magazine has a 9/16-27 thread.   See if you can measure the threads in the top of the powder slide housing for a match.

The Star Primer magazine is 5/16" in diameter and is designed to go about one inch into the primer magazine socket.   

Looking at the pictures, those are the obvious parts that are missing.
