Greetings All,

I just finished a batch of nuts. Send me a message off list, pick on the envelope at the left, for pricing.

I have #17, #19, #69, and #69U.

The #78 is the same thread pitch as the #69U. I have been using them interchangeably. Someone correct me if there is a difference. Both measure 9/16" across the flats with a 3/8-24 thread.

Cheers,

Dave

The 69 is for the small stem die.  The 69U for the larger stem.  My .45 ACP press has the older, small stem on the taper crimp die, so it requires the small nut.

Greetings,

I forgot all about the 3/8-24 nut on the stem style crimping die. I do not think it has an official part number as it was an aftermarket item. Still, it has the same shape and thread size as the 69U and 78 nuts.

Not sure if they made them in house or not. McMaster Carr does not list the style used on the machines.

Cheers,

Dave

So, is there a thread size difference between the #69 & #69U.. ???
If not, why are they numbered differently.. ??? :o
and
What stem nut that doesn't have a nut # is he referencing.. ???

Going by the old saying 'Clear as mud'

Greetings,

As best as I can tell,

#69 is a 0.3125-32 thread with 7/16" across the flats.

#69U is a 0.3750-24 thread with 9/16" across the flats.

Cheers,

Dave

No need to yell  ;) ,, what part of one die using a 5/16" threaded stem and another using a 3/8'' threaded stem are you missing ? I would toss a WAG out that the split is .38 sp and smaller uses a 5/16'' stem Dave would know for sure
