Stars Want to Sell/Want to Buy / Re: 10 mm dies and shell plate needed
« on: December 20, 2020, 09:25:09 pm »
Try using a .38 Shell plate. It should work for 10 mm.

I put up The offer and got no response so I deleted the offer. Thinking He had made a deal somewhere else.

Star History / Re: Stars of the Star Machine Works
« on: August 03, 2020, 11:05:41 pm »
Bill Cunningham lived in the very small city of Pioneer Ca. About 50-60 miles from My hometown of Manteca, Ca.
I've driven through Pioneer many times and regrettably didn't have time to stop and chat. Talked to Him by phone
mostly, or by massaging over the years.

Star Reloaders / Re: M-A Systems Roto-Ease and Eject-Ease
« on: June 12, 2020, 12:07:30 am »
I have Used both the MA Systems ROTO EASE and EJECT EASE,  My 2 is that they are hard to keep in adjustment and not very reliable. the ROTO EASE must be attached to the same surface as the Star reloader which is not very handy if You want to move the star reloader.  it has a hard rubber component on the flex arm that gets brittle and breaks easily. I would suggest the MOON UNIT instead.

The Eject EASE is a little more dependable but is made from bent wire and one small bump to the wires may cause malfunctions.

Sorry to be so negative about these two items, but I never really liked their performance.

PS I have Manuals for both

Loading Data & Reloading Procedures / Re: Primer seating problerm

KYKenn

The depth of primers is easily adjusted by screwing #44 primer punch push rod up or down on the tool head. this adjustment should come after You have adjusted the Shell plate thrust nut to eliminate up and down movement but still rotate without binding. one other thing You want to do while loading is make sure the crank case handle is rotated all the way down on the down stroke.

SOLD, THANKS FOR LOOKING

You wont find many of these around, (if any)  A must have to allow for complete reloading of 38 Long Colt on Star
Reloading Machines. I no longer load for 38 LC and would like to pass this on to someone who can put this Die back to work.
I'm asking $60 and I'll take care of the shipping to lower 48.  PM me for questions.
Personal checks OK. Postal money orders OK, PayPal OK.

Pure speculation:  I've heard Star made sprinklers of some sort of cast metal, could be a relationship

I have 16 each  38 cal. seater dies in My spares, I found 6 that were obviously machined different from each other.
I believe these are all manufactured by star.

It is called "Powder measure spout" in the parts manual. And has a note following the nomenclature that says (Specify Caliber). Hopefully someone on the forum has a list of the different sizes and will share that info with You.
