Star Reloaders / Re: Parted out Machines on eBay - Buyer Beware!

Greetings,

I bookmarked all of his auctions.

Curious to see if he can get more money parting everything out.

Now that most of us have received "Stimulus Checks" increased liquor sales and high bidding should prevail.

Cheers,

Dave

Greetings,

I may be wrong; but, I screw the brass plug in until I feel it start to bind.

I "think" the tapped hole has incomplete threads for this purpose.

Hopefully, Bruce will respond as he has more experience than me.

Cheers,

Dave

Greetings,

I lap Carbide dies to a larger diameter with a Diamond Hone.

Have you a link to the dies in question?

Cheers,

Dave

Greetings,

Looks like a home made bracket for the Hulme Case Feeder.

It would attach to the Gooseneck at the top of the tool head.

Cheers,

Dave

I like the automatic bullet feeder.

Need to show this video to the wife....

Greetings,

With the GunBroker ad, I only see one (1) machine?

Greetings,

The Star Greaser uses Solid sticks to the best advantage.

Hollow ones 'can' be used in a pinch; but, you will get the annoying 'pop' of trapped air released as you progress.

Cheers,

Dave

Greetings,

What month American Handgunner is the article?

The file posted will not load on my machine.

By the way, I have a CPM and might be able to machine parts for you.

Cheers,

Dave

Greetings,

If the bullet is a single grease groove, just plug the upper two rows of die holes with Lead shot.

Cheers,

Dave

Greetings,

Greasing nose first is fine for casual shooting.

Greasing base first is desirable for match ammo as the bullet is aligned by both the leade in the die and the nose punch. The action of greasing/sizing does not damage the base.

Cheers,

Dave

Greetings,

I have a large backlog at present.

If your friend can wait a few months, I should be able to help out.

I have a CPM machine that I can use for reference.

Thinking back, I believe one slide does both small and large primers?

Click on the email icon and contact me in that fashion.

Cheers,

Dave

Greetings,

There are three sizing dies and punches for the Star Greaser shown at the bottom of the photo.

The long threaded items must go to a different machine.

Just above the three dies is the die puller and nut.

Cheers,

Dave

Star Reloaders / Re: Powder Slides

Dave,

Why were the powder slide housings made of zinc vs. aluminum?

Greetings,

Not sure why. The metal is close to Zamak which is available from several sources. It melts and pours like Lead.

Metallurgy is not my strong suit.

Star did a lot of interesting things. Especially the use of non off the shelf threads.

Cheers,

Dave

Greetings,

Brass will not gall in the Zinc powder slide housing. Aluminum will.

Cheers,

Dave
