Load drop through

I have a Universal that was set up for 45acp but I'm switching over to 38spl and I want the loaded rounds to drop out the bottom.

There is a plug in the hole, part number 68U in my old manual,

My question is; does this plug pound out the bottom or is it tapered so it has to come out the top? That is, do I have to take the press apart.

Hi Rich.

The #68U Shell Floor Base Plug has a slight taper and drops in from the top and pushes out from the bottom.  Same is true of the #67U Shell Floor Base Bushing which goes into the same location and the loaded rounds drop through it.  Machine does not need to be disassembled beyond removal of the shellplate for this operation.

Bob

Thanks Bob!

It's lucky sanity kicked in before the 6# hammer came out.

Best regards;
