Stars Want to Sell/Want to Buy / Star reloaders amd dies for sale
« Last post by MKOtto on June 20, 2021, 02:26:23 pm »
I  have 2 star progressive reloaders that I would like to sell.  These were in my fathers home reloading shop.  One is set up for  automatic hydraulic operation.  They have been unused in his temperature controlled shop since 2010
I would appreciate input on the value, as well as any buyer interest.
Additionally, there are at least 15 RCBS dies, and numerous boxes of spare die parts.

Here is a link to the photos of the equipment   (copy and paste)   The images were too large to attach

I also have available the comlplete loading shop.  I can provide additional details upon request.

Thank you

New member and new Star reloader user.
Just acquired a used universal star reloader.
Got it all setup and adjusted. Had to make a bushing for the powder bar - which was easy enough to do.
Well built machines.
Really like the shell feeder. A bullet feeder would be really nice.

Great site! Thanks for all the information here

Thanks NYKenn.  This is working up toward the top of my to-do list and should be done within the next month or so.  I'm hoping to set my Star Progressive and Star Lubricator on their own little bench dedicated to loading 38 Spl only, but readily switchable between 38 MRWC and SWC.

Other than possibly having to adjust your crimp, there should be nothing else you would need to do, except powder measure as you mention
Good luck..
Star Reloaders / Seating SWCs on my Progressive.

Many years ago I bought an old Star Progressive that came from the John Amber estate.  It was/is set up with Hulme case feeder but otherwise out of the box stock, equipped to reload mid range 38 wad cutters for Bullseye competition.    I donít shoot very many 38s and though we got the press up and running several years ago, it mostly languishes in my basement.  :'(
During one of several abortive attempts to start using it once again, I contacted Bruce and purchased but never installed a seater to seat semi wad cutters rather than the current full wad cutters. My question is (if we ignore powder charge for the moment) do I need to do anything else besides change the seating die to convert from WC to SWC loading?
Sounds stupid I know, but keep in mind Iím barely making the jump from 310 tools to single stage and turret presses.

TIA ~ Froggie

Bruce has everything you are missing. I purchased a tube for the case feeder from McMaster Carr but I would think Bruce probably has those as well.

It has 38 special dies. It has the brass fitting for the powder tube, but no plastic powder tube. Also needs a shell feeder/tube holder. May need other parts?
