You "could" but would be much better off with caliber specific dies, especially for seating and crimp issues.

Suggest you contact Bruce Williams  (RBWillNJ) on this site for dies and plate.
You also have Rich Daniels (BarrelTester) on this site that can fabricate both for a star.

That is if no one answers your WTB post!

It appears to be an angle roller lever where an indexer was installed.

Survey Says... / Re: Camp Perry
« on: July 17, 2018, 03:56:40 pm »
Attended again this year. Many changes to housing, and only two firing ranges. But there were a little over 600 competitors; up from last year.

Swap meet was poorly attended. Three vendors when I got there about five minutes after it began. No stars as expected.

Did speak with one shooter who had a .45 Star for sale, w/Indexor and case feeder,  but did not bring it as there is really no means to advertise and sell it at Camp Perry.
He occasionally visits this site, but was hoping to sell it first hand in order to work with the buyer.

Precision Pistol is holding it's own, but not growing as mush as other venues, and I think impacting how Stars are perceived.

If you cannot discern from the home page on this site, you could also try www.StarMachineWorks.com

You could also contact Bruce Williams on this site as RBWillNJ, who by the way owns www.StarMachineWorks

If you are using an older brass or metal powder tube, or have a brass powder drain threaded in, check the threads on them. Vibration from use, or accidental impact,  could have cracked same where it is attached, and resulted in a small piece of brass flaking off.

I could see a cardboard from some older Bullseye as that was used in the manufacture of the tube can, but Brass not so much, but who knows.

Star Reloaders / Re: Need help with the press mount

Mounted similar to Star as suggested, but mounted 2x12 higher to not need additional height. Drilled a hole to collect primers and build a sliding draw under it to catch them.

Loading Data & Reloading Procedures / Re: Charge Bars?
« on: February 06, 2018, 07:26:43 pm »
It is not five grains but a number 5 insert.
Different powders will drop different grains.
You could drop a few drops and measure on a scale to give you a starting point.

RBWillNJ (Bruce Williams) on this site will have accessories and inserts to alter to your load. Bruce has the Star Machine Works site.

There is also a thread on this list (which Bruce can provide) that determines size by masurement of the insert and computing the volume.

Good,luck.

Might want to check that you have both small (32 & 38) and large (45) primer feeds.

Also if you can list the powder bar markings for powder and grains, would help to determine which caliber they likely fit.

You could also contact Bruce Williams   RBWillNJ  on this site. He operates the Star Machine works site and would likely be interested in the package.
In my dealings with Bruce I have found him to be both reasonable and fair.

Good luck.

There are a few threads on this site that have some sale/resale details.
You could also check out listings on Ebay to get an idea, but do the sold data not the asking listings as some are overpriced and do not sell for what they are asking, especially on the reloaders.

Also Bruce Williams,   RBWillNJ  on this site might be interested in the whole lot as he owns Star Machine Works.
Good luck.

Powder slides vary in thickness by "O", "OO", "OOO" and "OOOO" size.
Bruce Williams (RBWILLNJ) has them in stock and can provide measurements for each type.

Very nice indeed!

Can the same speeds be achieved with lead?
