There was a listing on ebay for a tool head and the powder slide housing cover had a hole drilled in the top which looks like it would be above the drop tube. What was this hole for? Just a visual to see if powder was thrown? Anybody else seen one like this?
Thanks,
-
I haven't seen one, but I have heard of the modification. If it's what I'm thinking of, the design is to allow you to change out a bushing in the powder slide without taking everything apart.

Thats a good idea but the hole appears to be about the same diameter as the flathead screws that hold the cover down. Maybe 5/16 diameter?

Greetings,
Can you find the eBay link and post it so we can look at the modification?
Might have to pick Sold or Completed items to find it.

You are pushing my internet skills here, but I'll try.

I'll try a picture also.

Greetings,
Many thanks for the eBay reference.
I had this in my Watch List.
Spaced over the extra hole in the powder slide top.
Absolutely clueless as to it's function.

I assume the hole lines up with the powder measure spout? This mod could come in handy if you're weighing all your charges and don't want to take the case out of the machine. You could just drop the charge through the hole. That's my guess.

Yea, looks too small for bushing removal. Maybe he was having a problem with his powder charges and wanted to see what was going on??

The thought about dropping weighed charged thru the top makes sense. It would make load development easy if that was your only press.
Thanks,
