I have a couple spare .38 Spl Lifetyme dies and while returning them to storage I happened to notice that the roll marks on one die was upside down from the other, and taking a closer look at the Die's I discovered what appears to be nine didgit serial numbers. Anyone know if these are serial numbers ? And
is it common for the Roll Marks to be right side up / upside down?
Good Shooting

I have seen quite a few Lifetyme dies with upsidedown roll marks, but I can't say I have ever noticed a serial number on any of them. I have quite a few in stock, I'll have to take another look.
I have seen some with a Pat. Pend. mark and others without. I don't believe I have ever seen one with a Patient number indicating they had been granted a Patient.

I checked all of the Lifetyme dies I have and I did find two that have what appears to be a serial number. Both have a roll mark with a PK in an oval (Paul Knepp?). One has a PAT PEND in the role mark. One has an upside down role mark the other is not. The two "serial numbers" are different, lending more credence to the idea that they actually are serial numbers.
The numbers are 15538886 and 94838179
I can't imagine the numbers are sequential. I would guess there is a date code buried in those numbers

I just came across another Lifetyme oddity. I have a 41 Magnum die that is marked .4275 in the area between the logo band and the threads.
I have two other Lifetyme 41 Magnum dies, neither so marked. The ID of the sizing ring is slightly larger than the ring on one of the dies, but the same as the other.

Hi Bruce
Could have been a special order die for an oversize chamber.
Good Shooting
