I have seen a few of these including some for sale at recent gun shows.  Most Star owners I know of customized their reloading bench in lieu of using a separate base, but it was a popular accessory for a while.

Contact Dave Wilson   "FC60"   on this site.

He can make a new die for you.

They are very clean and seem to be in very good condition.
They are pricey, but as the seller notes, they are hard to come by.

Two members on this site make quality components for this caiber.

Dave Wilson (FC60) on this site makes dies.

Rich Daniels (Barreltester) on this site makes shellplates and adjustable powder bars.
I have one of the bars that works and is of excellant quality.

Most of the other parts are required for small primers are somewhat more readily available. For tubes and some primer parts, send a note to Bruce WIlliams (RBWillNJ) on this site.

They should be fully interchangable, as the screw holes, etc. are in the same locations.  The primary differance is in slide height, which will require the approriate length screws.

Star Reloaders / Re: Indexer

Between my father buying the Star (circa 1966) and myself, we have conservatively loaded over 500,000 rounds in .45, .38, and I recently added 9mm and .45LC. to the mix.  Never felt the need for an Indexor or case feeder, as production and speed was more than sufficient. No wear to speak of on base, and press is still going strong.

There is currently a listing on Ebay for the adapter only to use on a Star. It allows the use of the Lee Bullet feeder.
Search Ebay under Star Reloading.  4 available at a start price of $ 100.00

It is not my listing, nor do I know who's it is. Announcing it here only for information for those that may be interested.

You also will not need a larger powder slide. Just a differant bar. 3.5 or 3.6 if you load 200swc.

If Ebay does not work ouot, I would reccomenr
Dave WIlson  "FC60" on this site for dies    and
Rich Daniels  "Barreltester" on this site for shellplates.

Each make these quality items.

Your pictures show some nice work.

In line with what Bruce mentioned. Everything has its weakest link. I would like to think the easiest to replace should be the easiest to break first.

163
Rich Daniels  aka  "BarrelTester" on this forum can make the dies and shellplates and provide some of the parts necessary to convert.
The fortunate aspect is .45acp is the most common second only to .38. so finding the necessary items should not be that difficult.

Very good video. Reminded me of when I helped my father reload when I was young. He put in the brass, I put on the head, and he cranked the handle. I wonder what other videos of yesteryear are lost out there somewhere.
