Greetings,
Just bought a CPM Loader and have some questions about it.
If anyone out there has, or had, one I would like to hear from you.

Clyde Products Manufacturing was trying to make an improved Star. Personally I think that they succeeded. Few were made. Even when they were in production getting spare parts was all but impossible. They were made in Clyde Ohio and later in Norwalk. I think that someone here was actually involved in their production.\
CPM also was the first to manufacturer what RCBS now calls the Piggyback, a way to turn a single stage press into a progressive. Between the time when they announced their new product and when they might have actually started production, Dillon threatened them with a lawsuit and they stopped.

Dave or Ken, Any idea what the time interval was for the manufacture of the CPM? I am guessing they were not around for long. Saw one for sale a couple of years ago, it looked like a nice machine. It took regular 7/8 dies and was in really good condition. I thought it sold for quite a bit.

Gil Hebard sold them in the early 80's. Contact him , he might be able to help you.

Gil Hebard was up there in years when I was young. That was a very long time ago. You sure that he is still alive.
Ron Peterson of Ron Peterson Guns in Albuquerque bought my press collection about 15 years ago. I doubt that he sold the more unusual models. You might call him and see if he still has my CPM. If you do call, be sure to talk to Ron. The store clerks will not know what you are talking about.

Gil Hebard is still alive and well in Knoxville, Tenn.
Gil Hebard Guns still has a catalog of shooting related items, but no longer carries as much inventory.

I can still remember driving to Knoxville to go to Gil Hebard's. That had to be in the late 60's. That is 40+ years ago. Gil had to be in his 40's back then so that would put him well into his 80's now. I'm surprised that he is still in business.

I can second the fact that the clerks may not know. I stopped by there two years ago when out for the Police Nationals in Albuquerque.No reloaders were on display in the store that I could find. I inquired about the Star straightline he was supposed to have.
The clerk I spoke to, said he probably did have something like that, but he was unaware of it, nor did the others he asked.
I was surprised in my visit to the store. Much smaller than I expected, but a large selection of firearms.

Sold my Star straightline to Ron Peterson of Ron Peterson Guns in Albuquerque. You might call and ask him (and only him) if he still has that.

I have a CPM, .45ACP... Had to have bushings made for the powder slide.
Paid 85$ at Gunshow . It works Great!
