Star Reloaders / Star Universal set up for 22 Hornet
« on: January 07, 2012, 12:44:17 pm »
Has anyone had any experience with loading 22 hornet on a Star. I know that the cases are very thin and can be a problem just loading on a plain C press. I've gotten back to shooting NRA hunter pistol and will be using a lot of hornet for practice and matches. I have a universal that I'm not using and if practical I'd like to set it up in Hornet.

Star Reloaders / Re: NEW PARTS SOURCE FOR STAR MACHINE WORKS

I have bought parts from Bill on several occasions. I always deal with him by email. His response has been prompt, his prices fair, and his parts have been what I needed and delivered in a reasonable time.

My experience is that that the greatest point of friction is the sizeing die. Do you have a carbide sizeing die? If not you may have to lube the cases or acquire a carbide die.

BW BUY
You have a potentionally nice machine. If you had any experience with stars I would say take it apart and clean it yourself. My suggestion would be to talk to Bruce ( rbwillnj ) on this forum, maybe he or one of the other experienced guys can help. Good luck and good loading.
