Have found the through screw on the nut to be either flat headed, or an allen key head.
I had the same problem freeing up the nut on an older machine with allen head, but should probably work same for flathead as long as screwdriver body was not round. Either one requires caution and patience.

You do not want to strip the head of the screw. Makes for a lot harder problem.

I used WD-40, took my time and was cautious. I applied WD-40 +/- every few hours as able for a couple of days.
Make sure the allen key or screwdriver is the right size with a tight fit, so you do not further damage or strip the head.
Once wet and soaked with WD-40, and rust and gunk is freed up, I was able to turn the key using a crescent wrench for leverage, but with caution so as not to strip it.
Good luck!

Very nice condition. You do not see many that clean. I think that does fit the definition of almost mint.
There are various posts on this forum about the .223 caliber. It was near the end of Star, so not sure on numbers, etc.
I know, I have never seen one, nor knew anyone, who I was associated with in Bullseye that ever saw or had one either. There are a few others here that can add more.

Survey Says... / Re: Bill Cunningham and Star parts
« on: January 08, 2009, 01:24:25 pm »
I posted my experience in another topic, but:

I ordered parts in March.
There were some order and mail issues.
(check lost, order misplaced, missed e-mails, etc.)
However, once able to communicate with Bill and get everything straightened out, I finally received all parts in January.

I did re-order another item that I forget. Will let you know how that goes, but I would expect positive response and outcome.

Received all items ordered in March, in mail on Saturday January 03. Also refund check.

Took a while for service, but a positive outcome. There were problems with losing my check, and misplacing my order etc. I would think, or at least my impression is, that had those not occurred, it would not have taken the time it did.

Patience is not only a virtue, but sometimes a necessity.

Update on parts from Bill Cunningham.

I had no response from my check that I sent in March.
Finnally sent another e-mail that was answered early November.  Had to exchange e-mails and explanations. Bill indicated he had misplaced the check and apologized.
I sent a new check, and more for some additional items. He responded he had received and would be shipping shortly and returning my original check.
Will advise as soon as I get order.

Sent me an e-mail he had shipped to wrong address and it was returned. Gave him correct address. reshipped and again said returned. Confirmed address was correct on 12/22 and am still waiting.

I did note that forum member    45acp    posted in another thread that he was ordering 10K of these. That was in April of this year. Maybe you can contact him via message and get his opinion.

Please post info you find out.

I have not used them, usually preferring Winchester, although I have also used Federal in the past. If price and availability become issues, I would consider if they were available and information was provided.
Good luck.

Agreed.
I purchased an adjustable powder slide. Well made with clear directions.

45acp (Pete)

I did not communicate via phone. With coastal time issues and work, my effort is better spent dealing via e-mail than playing repeated phone tag.
The e-mail is still the same as listed on the websight.

Good luck!

I had to have Patience by default.

Hopefully the second time around is the charm.

Thanks for your input.
I was not aware the same feeder assembly would do both 38 and 45.

I have one, but no photo to provide.
Basically, a bowl attached to a long plastic tube with a mechanical arm on the bottom to slide the case onto the shellpate when the arm on the press moves the die head.
You might try searching     Star Reloading    on ebay. There have been some there in the past as an example.

I started a topic in Survey Says for recent sales listings and prices from Ebay.
See posts in that section for a listing of past and recent prices from ebay sales.
Good luck. Caliber and accessories make a difference, but in the end all supply and demand.
