Star Reloaders / Ray-vin discontinued their Star addons
« on: April 09, 2019, 04:05:16 pm »
Looks like Ray and Ruby are no longer offering their case kicker and indexer for the Star. That's really too bad, I was planning on purchasing the indexer, but was too late. I have the case kicker on all my presses, they work flawlessly and are really well made.

Star Reloaders / Star upgrades almost done
« on: September 22, 2017, 02:20:53 pm »
Been making some upgrades on my Stars this year. I have now equipped all four of them with Hulme case feeders with a Dillon collator, Ray-vin case kickers, adjustable powder bars (two still need them), all mounted on an Inline Fabrication Ultramount with quick change capabilites. Just need to add Moon indexers and possibly new powder measure tubes and I'm pretty much done.
Big thanks to Bruce at SMW, Dave, Z4lunch, Dan at Inline and Ray-vin for helping me making this happen.

Pictured is my press set up in 44-40 Winchester.

Star Reloaders / Loading 44-40 W.C.F. on a Star Universal
« on: March 29, 2017, 07:53:32 am »
Anyone done it? I assume I can use an expander for 44 Magnum, and the 45 Colt shellplate seems to fit perfectly. I will not be sizing the brass on the Star, so no need for a sizing die. I guess a 45 Colt seater will work, or possibly one for 44 Magnum? But what about the crimp?

Does anyone know who manufactured this adjustable powder slide? I would like to get something similar for my other Stars.

Star Reloaders / I did it again - Just bought a couple more Stars
« on: October 16, 2016, 07:13:00 pm »
Hi!
Just wanted to share with the community that I just purchased a couple more Star machines, one that I believe is a Star Progressive, and a Star sizer. The sizer looks like new and shows almost no signs of use. I bought the reloader mainly because of the extras, it has what I believe to be the M-A Systems eject ease and an auto indexer I'm not familiar with. It also came with a Hulme case feeder.
Can anyone shed some light on what kind of auto indexer that came with this press?

Star Reloaders / M-A Systems Roto-Ease and Eject-Ease
« on: June 08, 2016, 02:08:49 pm »
Does anyone have any experience with the Roto-Ease and Eject-Ease from M-A Systems? I found a guy who has them for sale, but I can't find much info on them. He wants $270 for the set, seems a little steep to me.
Thanks.

Star Reloaders / About to purchase my first Star reloaders
« on: May 12, 2016, 08:20:49 am »
Hello everyone,
I'm new here, and also happy to be a member of what seems to be a great community. The closest thing I own to Star reloaders at this point are a few sizers produced by Magma. I was always intrigued by the Star reloaders, but never got the chance to get one until now.

Anyway, an acquaintance is getting out of high volume reloading, and wants to sell three Star Universals. They seem to be in good shape, and are set up in 38 Special, 9mm and 45 ACP. Dies and conversion for 44 magnum are also included. The seller is asking around $975 for the lot, is that a decent price? I live in Norway, and I have only seen one of these for sale so far, and it was years ago. I don't recall if it was a Progressive or an Universal, but to my knowledge all for sale this time are Universals.

I would like to equip at least one of them with a casefeeder, but haven't looked into options yet. I need to get the Stars to me first and get familiar with them before I start investing in accessories.

A few pictures of the reloaders for sale:
