Star History / Re: Pictures from the Past

Thanks, Bruce! Thanks, Dick!  Great history. I've added it to my Picassa web album for Star Reloading, along with pictures of my own bench (see https://picasaweb.google.com/116590779301281658338/StarReloading# for photos).

Star Reloaders / Re: Homemade "Star"
« on: April 02, 2013, 07:52:37 am »
That is a fine testimony to the design of the Star. Thank you, Bruce. I too would be curious for additional information.

The dedication to reproduce the design reminds me of a machinist, Frank, who scratch-built a lightweight (Ti) IZH-35M for his son. His son, Adam, went on to be a Junior National champion with that pistol and has since spent his career shooting for the AMU pistol team.

There is a "Patent Pending" Progressive on eBay. Bronze plaque on the toolhead. Raised lettering on the base. Neat history for the collector. I have no interest to this sale, however I thought others here may find this an uncommon version.

See http://www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Progressive-Reloading-press-38-Special-carbide-dies-/150986853138?ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123 for details.

Stars Want to Sell/Want to Buy / WTB: .223 Universal components
« on: December 29, 2012, 09:39:40 am »
No longer loading .223 on your Star? I may be interested in your components, ranging from a loaded tool head & shell plate to individual dies, spouts, etc.

(I aim to pursue Service Rifle and I welcome all of the related information that you would like to share -- from pet loads to equipment set-up to tips for the firing line.)

Thank you,
-Kirk

Stars Want to Sell/Want to Buy / WTS: "0" powder slide, modified
« on: April 27, 2012, 07:59:34 am »
This came with one of my presses. It is modified, but it might be the ticket to creating what you're looking for. The current hole is slightly over 0.50". I have not tested whether the volume written in permanent marker is accurate. It is impossible to set a price for this, so if you're interested, just give me an offer.

No sellers here, so Dave Wilson made me a new die, and -- as always -- his craftsmanship is superb. Thanks, Dave!
