I saw this ad posted at bullseyeforum.net and thought I pass it along in case anyone is interested.  It sounds like it comes as a complete system except for an operator. . .

Star Reloaders / need info on part not shown in diagram
« on: June 02, 2008, 10:59:14 pm »
List,

I have a Universal loader from 1976.  I recently cleaned the machine and found the "key" that rides between the tool head and shaft is dinged up.  The tool head slides off easily but difficult to reinstall as it appears the "key" does not fit the slot just right.  It looks like one corner of the key is dinged up so it doesn't easily slide in.

The key does not not show up in the diagrams I looked at.  Do anyone know if the part is something I can find at a hardware store?  Or will I need to make one myself?  Also, any ideas on how to remove the key?  Is it pressed in?

TIA
Steve

Star History / Wemco Williams Star Reloader

To Kenneth Waters,

I appreciate if you can share your knowledge of the Wemco Williams Star Reloader.? I have seen product literature on the machine but do not know if they ever existed or anyone who claimed to have one.? (I think I spelled the machine name correctly.)?

Loading Data & Reloading Procedures / powder data
« on: December 17, 2005, 11:49:43 am »
List,
Would anyone like to share any data they have regarding their powder charge bars?? For example, if you use a charge bar marked as 3.5 BE to meter W231 instead.? What does it drop/weigh?? Realizing many of the powder charge bars are for fixed amounts of a specific powder - they can be used for other powders but what is the amount??

Rather than reinventing the wheel here, I think all? of us can benefit from telling others what we know and have experimented with.? If you post here, I'll record the info and put together a list of everyone's data.?

TIA,
-Steve

Star Reloaders / Star Machine Works
« on: December 10, 2005, 11:38:32 am »
This message is a FYI to Star owners,

This year, I read several posts here regarding Bill Cunningham and Star Machine Works.? Many of the posts questioned whether Star Machine Works was still in business.? Well, Bill just filled an order for me on several small parts (Thanks, Bill).? So I assume Bill and Star is still a viable business entity.?

While my order was not filled immediately and there was limited communication between us; I like to think Bill was having the parts fabricated and this contributed to the delay.?

Steve

Star Reloaders / primer feed improvement
« on: February 06, 2005, 01:47:44 pm »
To List,

Recently while reloading, I thought I ask the membership if they have found a way to improve the Star.  More specifically,

The question that comes to mind is "has anyone found a way to make it easier to refill the primer tube on the Loader itself?"  I have several primer pick-up tubes and have to refill the primer tube every 80 or so rounds.  I was thinking of a 1" brass coupler that would hold and align the primer pickup tube with the primer tube so I would only have to place the pickup tube on top and dro pthe primer follower into it to prompt the primers down.

This is not a big issue but it is one of those things that make reloading on a Star a bit easier.

Thanks in advance for your comments and ideas.

Regards,
Steve
