Ah yes, one of the true blessings of the computer age; a computer crash that destroys your data.

You haven't posted any prices.

An overall price for everything, would be good to know, along with what you think each individual pictured item is worth.

That .44 Magnum head is quiet rusty...!

Can I reload my 8mmx57 shells with my star progressive press and if so what would I need?

No, not as the machines are configured, during manufacture.

Star Reloaders / Re: Grain Bar
« on: January 04, 2013, 05:37:12 pm »
I got a Star reloader from my father.   I load 45 acp in it at the moment.   The powder bar has 3.9 stamped on it.  When I went and shot the loads for the first time,  it would jam every 6 or so rounds.   I'm using 700xx powder.  It the grain amount to low and if so, is there anywhere I can get a higher grain bar and what size.  Thanks.

The 3.9 graim charge is probably for Bullseye powder.

On the cam end of the powder bar, where the rollers are, it should say should say BE, if it is for Bullseye and below that 3.9 gr.

Stars Want to Sell/Want to Buy / Re: wtb 9mm plate

Dave makes really great dies!

I have a set of Dave's dies in 45 Colt in one of my machines (There wasn't ever a Long Colt in .45) and they are perfect. I have the shell plate also...!

If you can't find the 9 MM shell plate, Dave Wilson, fc60net, on this forum, can easily make you a very good one.

Greetings,

Please post a photo of the reconditioned machine.

Cheers,

Dave

Dave, I knew someone was going to ask that. I have a digital camera, but I have never paid much attentiion to it.

For my next project I will learn how  to post pictures from the camera, on here.

I just unpacked the 9 MM Star Universal Progressive, It is as impressive as the 45 Colt machine I posted about, earlier in this thread.

I have just had USPS deliver to me, two Star Universal Progressives that I bought from Bruce Williams. I have only had time to unpack one, it's in 45 Colt, the other is a 9MM machine.

This first Star Universal, in 45 Colt, is in great rehabilitated condition. If I had to evaluate it, I would say it is in 98-99% of new. Thanks to Bruce Williams, I have got a great machine to work with. My wife even commented on how good it looked.

I also want to add thanks to Dave Wilson, fc60, for the beautiful 45 Colt dies and shell plate he made.

I'm really picky, however, I think these two guys, in my opinion, have a corner on great Star reloading machine work.

Survey Says... / Re: Dave Wilson (fc60) Master Machinist

I have a star coming in 45 Colt. I specified tht the builder have Dave Wilson make the dies for it. In our telephone conversation the builder said he couldn't think of a better person to make the dies.

We might want to be careful throwing all of these boquetes around, Dave might begin to think he is, really that good...  ;D

:D  Good luck finding  decent  ''Star ''  for 200.00  bucks ..
best pistol reloaders ever built ... took  me 8 yeras to find
the 3  i  have ... wouldn't sell mine for less then 500.00> each.

                                                                                      win

Star Universal Progressive reloaders routinely sell on ebay, for more than $600.00 And they are usually rusty hulks. They will still work, but they look like they have been through a Banana Republic revolution.

Greetings,

I machine replica dies for the Star. Contact me via personal email and I will reply with a quote.

Cheers,

Dave

If you buy your 9 MM dies from Dave, fc60, they will be better dies than new dies were.

I believe the OP was talking about a Star Lubrisizer, not a Star reloader...
