You prob. know about this site, but if not, go to (http://stevespages.com/page8d.htm) This will give you dimensions of the 9X21 case and several hundred others.
the 9X21 is near the bottm of the page in the metric area.

The .38 special shell plate can be used to load 40 cal.  Although I could have used the .38 shell plate as is, I slightly modified the top of the opening where the case
slides into it by grinding a very slight bevel to allow more room for the case extractor groove to fit. I did this with a round stone on my dremmal.

Thanks for the info.
I wasn't aware that 9mm would work for the 40 cal S&W , but if it will thats a good thing.
If someone has a shell plate in 9mm they can spare please let me know By Email.

Shell plate .40 S&W ACP
I'm thinking about changing one of my Star Universal's from .45 ACP to 40 S&W and could use a Shell plate in 40 caliber.
If someone has one to spare, perhaps we could do some trading. I have a complete M-A Systems Eject Ease with all Instructions,
A complete M-A Systems Roto Ease with all instructions, Misc. replacement parts, etc, etc. Prefer to trade but if the price is right,,, Cash.
Please let Me Know.

Could You post some pictures of Your Star loader, it would help to identify the exact model and assist in determining a value.

Star Reloaders / Packing for shipment ?
« on: December 11, 2012, 08:48:18 pm »
Anyone have hints on how to pack a Star reloader for shipping that you would share ?  Wood box, Five gallon bucket, etc.
The ones that I bought new came in a heavy duty cardboard box made to properly fit the star. And at that time I think the
shippers were a bit more careful. As of late, I could tell horror stories about some of the items i have recieved.

Star Reloaders / Re: Modify for Auto Eject???

I used a Dremel machine with a cut off wheel to cut away the railing on the base and then finished up with a file useing the pictures from FC60's post at the begining
of this post as a guide. Then drilled a hole large enough to fit the wire size and about 3/4 inches deep into the top of the rail and another hole in the side of the base to put a set screw (tapped for 6/32) to hold the wire in place. Then bent and shaped the wire as per FC60's pictures and then assembled and tested. everything worked.
The pic's from  FC60 were an invaluable guide for this project. Thanks FC60 !

This past Weekend I applied this modification to one of My Stars that is set up for .44 mag, And was pleasantly suprised to find that it worked very well. It allows the finished round to exit the machine flawlessly on to a homemade metal ramp into a container. all this without any moving parts. and it leaves enough clearance for a
taper crimp die. I will be modifiying the rest of My Machines this coming week.

Star History / Star-Hensley and Gibbs
« on: December 02, 2012, 05:01:27 pm »
I noticed on Ebay this morning there is a 10 cavity wadcutter .38 mold up for bid that is stamped "Star Machine works, San Diago ca", The mold looks exactly like
one of the Hensley and Gibbs molds that I've been using for Years. I knew Star and Hensley and Gibbs were close, But did Star sell H&G molds stamped with
the Star markings ?
