Star Reloaders / Lee undersized sizer dies
« on: February 24, 2023, 11:09:44 pm »
I have started using these dies in my standard reloading presses and have been quite pleased with the results.

Would anyone be interested in having these dies returned to fit star loaders?

Star Reloaders / Casefeeder tube
« on: September 10, 2022, 12:00:06 pm »
In order to loader 45 LC and 44 Mag the drop tube has to have a diameter greater than .500 inch.

I have been attempting to source a tube 5/8 imch outer diameter by 9/16 inch id. My ancient tubes for a Dillon rl1000 are this material however i have not located it.

I gave thought to using the lee case feeder tubes for large pistol and turning delrin bushings to glue to the tube where it locates in case feeder assembly as well as at the top where the support band holds it in place.

I would have to glue the micro switch block onto the lee tube .

What's everyone's solution

Star Reloaders / Ma bullet feeder
« on: May 27, 2022, 08:07:36 pm »
Could someone please explain how this unit works.

I watched the video varmintpopper
Posted and I am uncertain what happens at the end.

Does the feeder drop the bullet or is the bullet started and then the shuttle retracts?

Star Reloaders / Roller handlesq
« on: May 07, 2022, 09:39:13 pm »
I have a variety of handles for my collection of star and Phelps presses. The factory handle in my opinion sucks and I loathe loading more than 100 rounds with them.

I have what I assume is a after market roller handle that is Nicole plated and is handy however it's only 3/4 inch in diameter.  As much as I like holding hands with the star it's uncomfortable after a while.

Has any one made ot does anyone sell a roller handle that is maybe 2 inch in diameter and 7ish inches long to accommodate all hand sizes?

I want to hear what would be the cheapest way to ship a star universal?

I have read and heard of these, however I have not seen pictures of them.

Does anyone personally own one or have pictures of them setup and functioning.

Star History / Paul "fitz" Jones
« on: February 17, 2022, 03:16:17 pm »
This name keeps popping up the more I research and buy star products.

He claimed to have been a star reconditioning center and he received items directly from star.

Any truth to this and does anyone know anything about him?

Loading Data & Reloading Procedures / 25 acp
« on: January 03, 2022, 09:53:18 pm »
Did star ever manufacture 25 acp dies and plates?

My mother in law has "acquired" a 25 acp handgun and insists it is the perfect gun....... I thought I would load her some practice ammo with the star Universal due to the accuracy of the powder measure.

This applies not only to stars but what ever equipment you also may use.

I am on the tail end of finishing a 5000 round batch of 38 special 158 grain lead with 4.2 grains of Winchester and my seating die kept build up and affecting my overall length.  Well I fixed this problem by breaking the problem down into individual stations.  The brass was flared and bullet seated square but it still shave lead every time! I replace my 38 spl seater die with a flat stem 45 acp seating die and it STOPPED.  My bullets seat straight and no longer shave and my over all length is to within .005 with lead cast bullets.

So everyone knows I seat and crimp in different stations on star progressive and universal

Star Reloaders / What are you loading for?
« on: December 18, 2021, 08:22:11 pm »
I have read up on stars for years and their many uses and have pretty much came to the conclusion they are primarily used for bullseye type precision pistol shooting.  I see why , however on my best day with a pistol I am minute of a big red barn. I use my stars and Dillon rl1000s(just a bigger better star) to feed my ipsc/steel challenge ammo requires and my general blasting ammo for when the wife and I spend time together.

What do you do with your stars?
