Stars Want to Sell/Want to Buy / Re: Star Case Kickers and Indexers
« Last post by MJCMD1 on August 06, 2023, 09:20:45 am »
I have several of each on hand.

I apologize but they were expensive to have made.

Indexer $450 and Kicker $275. I would do a set for $700.

Immediate shipping.

I am not in the business. I wanted these for myself and these are the remainder of the minimum

I am new to forums like this and don't understand exactly how or where to make this post.

I had replicated versions of the Moon Unit Indexers and Case Kickers.  The machinist had a minimum order and I have a few extra ones of each.  Extremely high quality. Any interest?

Looks like a nice find.  Should clean up nicely.

In addition to the reloader, you have an MA Systems Roto-Ease indexer and an MA Systems Eject-Ease finished round ejector.   The manifold is probably for a MA Systems bullet feeder, but I don't see the rest of it in your pictures.

Star Reloaders / Star - What did I bring home
« Last post by Bradhe on June 25, 2023, 07:16:36 pm »
Found a old Star Reloader at the local gunshop.  Don't really need another reloader, but it will be a good winter restoration project.   Falls in to the catagory of things that I really wished I could afford back when these were being made, but now I can relive my youth but with some money...  A little bit of nostalgia loading 45 ACP rounds with 231 and H&G 68s.    (and it was cheap)

Would appreciate any help identifying what I have so I can search the forum intelligently.

Pictures:
1. Here is the reloader in some sort of commercially made base
2. Looks like a Hulme casefeeder
3. Odd pneumatic manifold at the top of the loader.  Maybe for bullet feeder?
4. Not sure what this mechanism is.  Maybe loaded round ejector?
5. Not sure what this goes to?
6. Looks like some sort of pneumatic bullet feeder
7. Extra toolheads
8 . Looks like primer slides and misc parts.  Wonder why he had so many?
9. Misc parts including powder slide
10.  Assorted primer tubes

There is also an MA case collator (but I only get 10 pics)

Thanks for any help you guys might provide.

Brad

Star Reloaders / Re: Adjusting case tabs

Greetings,

Personally, I rotate the shell plate half way out of index.

The Shell Straps should now point to the index hole in the plate.

Back off the upper set screw about two turns.

Now, tighten the Filister Head screw at the bottom until it just touches the shell plate.

Next, tighten the upper set screw just enough so that the shell plate turns freely.

Gently is the key word here.

Repeat for the other two straps.

Last, insert a shell casing and check for movement and alignment.

Cheers,

Dave
