Made contact with Bill on March 27.  He sent me the current price list with payment address.

He said he would be back in town in two weeks from 1 Mar.

So.....I sent him a Personel check (This way I can stop payment if need be)  on the 14th Mar and havent been able to get ahold of him since.

I hope he comes through..........................................I was wanting the 5/8 housing and powder bar.

Alaska is treated the same way.  I have ask some people why they charge more to ship there when they would use a Flat Rate box anyway.

FLAT RATE boxes are the same price to all 50 states.

I have a Progressive model machine that has the last station drilled and tapped but the machine will not allow the use of it unless machine work is done to the base of the machine.

It must have been easier for Star to make all the toolheads the same.

Make sure its a "UniversL " model.  It would have adjustable locator tabs for changing calibers.  As for change calibers it can be done.  There are aftermaket and factory parts out there to be had.  The prices may be a little higher than if you had to buy stuff for a Star but if you look long and hard enough you will find deals.

If you have a chance to buy the machine, I would say GO for it!!!  Run it and make up your own mind of what you think about it.  Look around the sight here you will see the prices of stuff.  If you dont like it, put it back up for sale.

I found 3ft of some 5/8 square brass on McmasterCarr.com. (8951K733) $48.11 ($84.40 6ft)plus tax and shipping The tolerances are +-.006.  Would that work for the 5/8 powder bar.

Would this Work for the material?

I know but $130+ $10 for shipping for a powder bar is a little too much for me.  He doesnt offer fixed bars.

And a complete housing is $40 for the lower and $40 for the upper half.  That will put me at $220 bucks.

I am having a hard time pulling the trigger on those prices. I think I would rather put that money towards a complete press.

I dont need these parts..... I want them.

I have a line on a 5/8 powder housing.  Before I buy it I am wondering if I can get some fixed size bars first. looking for bars that will work for 357 mag and 44 mag . I have some older 2400 powder I'd like to use up.  13-22 grains The charge is that critical I can adjust the size.

You can get some aftermarket dies and shell plates.  Shell plates run about 100 bucks plus shipping and a set of dies(sizer, expander, seater, crimp) will run a little over 200 bucks I think.

Its not origanal but equally as good.  I have a set of Replica dies from FC60. Very nice work.

So for about $350 you could get the dies and shell plate............unless you look real hard and buy large package deals and piece out the parts you dont need.

Tool heads have sold here with a powder measure for $240.00

9mm is not too common but they can be found. It took me a while to chase down the same thing but I finally found a nice set.
