Star Reloaders / DIE SETS
« on: February 28, 2011, 06:52:00 pm »
Looking through my dies - 1 set I removed from a Phelps Head, they were not knurled and colored Black..(.45 ACP)
The other set, not knurled and not colored..(.38 Spec.)
No markings on either set....

I've been cleaning up my No.2 Star, These dies came from the acquisition of that Star :D ;D

On the 3rd Phelps head there was a set of .38 Spec 'CARBIDE' dies & marked .38 Spec & 'Phelps'

Was looking through my shellplates, this plate is definitely a .38 Spec.... ???
Depending which way you look at the bottom, it has 6 or 9 stamped on it.
Does that stand for anything ??? 8)

Art
CONFUSED
If the Indexer is bolted down on the #11 Aluminum base, why do you need the 380 case..??? It shouldn't move (Moon base).......

ART, nevermind, I didn't read the first line very carefully....!! So with that in mind, you install the Indexer with the head in the DOWN Position....
Sorry to disturb...

Thanks Art
VERY HELPFUL !
You mention " take down during head swaps and typical 1000 round cleanup, etc. "
Is this absolutely necessary. ? Wouldn't the Head be above the Indexer in its Up position.??
Thank you again Art..!!

Just curious :-[ ???
I'm still in the process of refurbishing/cleaning my #1 Star 8)

I bought a Moon Indexer from Ray ::)

I've studied the video and still can't figure out what activates the Indexer ???

I mounted it to the base without the Head, Is that what activates the Indexer.. ???

I'm sure it's something simple, but it escapes me.. :-[
