Reality , you may locate a star machine
on a auction or in the want adds ..
I have - some have needed LOTs of $ to bring
up to usable condition . Others were missing many
parts.
There are fellows here that are in tune
with the current value of these machines.
You may consider doubling your minimum or more.
These are hand made machines , Not Lee's
I can only hope this helps you join the Star
Family of Star Tool users.

Star Reloaders / Re: Crank shaft bearing
« on: January 11, 2012, 09:14:39 pm »
Hello Group; FC 60 is Right on the money. I located two star base units without the matched Crank Shaft Assy.... With the help from another forum member I located two crankshaft assy`s on Gun Broker... The #7 tappered reamer did the trick slow and easy. Locked the crank shaft into alignment on the main shaft  with a allen screw after installing the links between the crank assy and the tool head. A new #7 tappered pin was then marked and easy to cut to the right length. Total cost for two tappered pins was 16.00, borrowed the reamer.....

Loading Data & Reloading Procedures / Re: Difficult primer seating
« on: November 18, 2011, 06:41:27 pm »
When most of us buy large amounts of brass is can be interesting to find that 45 ACP as we all know has some strange cousins..... 45 GAP, also has a small primer pocket... Locks up the press RFN. At that point it is clear what G A P stands for... I just wonder, Why would anyone put themselves in a position that Ammo for a side arm would be a non standard hard to get in a pinch, 45 ACP SHORT just my thoughts . JP

Stars Want to Sell/Want to Buy / Re: Hulme top plate
« on: August 02, 2011, 06:12:13 pm »
Hello Group; You may need a modification to your hulme feeder itself other than the top unit for 44mag as many will not feed the larger rimmed cases ( 44, 45LC,).... The mod can be done by any good machine shop. Other folks may have a better idea, but this worked well for me in 44 & 45LC. P
