Greetings,
I vaguely remember a photo showing a modification to the Safety Cam to allow function of a Crimp Die in the last station.
Am I imagining such a document? Perhaps someone out there will have a copy of the document, if it indeed exists, and post a copy for all to see.
I removed all my Safety Cams thirty years ago for what reason I cannot recall.
Cheers,
Dave Wilson

Dave,
This is the only thing I could find on the safety cam modification.

My safety cam and case feeder have already been modified, so the question is, will the cam interfere with the taper die, and if so can it be modified to work? Rhon

Greetings Mike A,
Your scan looks like mine except for the Marshall Enterprises logo. Who is, or was, Marshall?
Cheers,

Has anyone ever seen the safety cam used in conjunction with a Somar indexer? tt

Dave,
I think this might be what your looking for. I posted pictures of this a while back. This is original Star.

Well if that's the one that works with the taper die, then I either need to find one, find someone who makes them, or find someone with the specs to make my own. Or take it off and not use it at all, but I would feel alot safer with one on the machine. Rhon

There are two problem with this design. One is that it is caliber specific. The size/length of the "hook" is different for each caliber. The other problem is that there had to be clearance under the taper crimp die to be able to use this safety cam. By the way, it is an autoeject safety cam. The extra spring works in conjunction with the case feeder to eject the loaded round with the tool head is raised.
This is the only one I have ever seen.
