Hello Don....thanks for sharing the information.

I went from Bullseye to 231 to Trailboss on my Cowboy 45LC loads....but then went to Goex FFFg black powder for the last few years.

I'm down to Bullseye on the shelf and deciding what load to use as I am wanting to shoot my S&W Model 25 again.  I will try some BE loads...but was seeing what else folks were currently using.

I've never used Red Dot for whatever reason....but it sounds like it might work in my Model 25 which has a 6" barrel.

Thanks again,

George

I am setting up my "spare" tool head for 45 long colt rounds.

I plan to load 185 and 200 gn lead semi wad cutter swaged bullets.

I have loaded 250 gn 45LC bullets for years with either Trail Boss and for the past 5 years my cast 20:1 bullets with FFFg black powder.

I am loading these new loads for a Smith & Wesson Model 25-10 revolver with a 6 inch barrel....and am looking for a 25 yd paper punching load.

Thanks in advance for your valued feedback.

Star Reloaders / Re: Small Primer Slide
« on: June 08, 2013, 11:39:05 am »
I recently purchased new primer slides (large and small) and many other parts from Bill Cunningham.  As Bill is in and out frequently, I have found that it is best to send him a letter with my order versus attempts on the phone.  I provide my email address and he responds in time with an acknowledgement and cost for the parts and shipping....which I pay by USPS money order.  You can visit the Star Machine Works website to see the part lists....but the prices are out of date.

I can highliy recommend Richard Daniels aka Barrel tester....for any machine work that he offers.  I have several of his items and they all not only look good from a machining standpoint....they also perform well.

Star Reloaders / Re: Advice for the n00b
« on: January 27, 2013, 09:17:56 pm »
I am still in the "newbie" to this forum category...but can echo some advice from the previous feedback.

I took my time after "acquiring" my first Star Reloader and read the back and forth WTS/WTB on this forum and became familiar with the good advice that came along with each specific thread.

I am now reloading with two universals with many of the "add ons" that are not only fun to install and adjust but make the process easier for me.

I have bought everything that I am using from 4 of the regulars on this forum including my second "ready to go" universal reloader.  These gentleman all machine quality products and you don't have to "guess" about what you are going to receive.

I have had good experiences buying small parts, etc. from Bill Cunningham who still sells under the Star Machine Works label from Pioneer, California.  This was as advised from other members of this forum.

My best advice....is that before buying.....I noticed that items that I was intersted in continued to show up so I didn't feel like if I didn't buy one....it would be my last chance.

Good hunting,

George (aka Welsh Rifleman)

There are 3 listed on eBay right now.

Search on Star Reloder to find two of them and Star Lube Sizer to find the other one.

Dave Wilson.....fc60......can probably help you out.  He made a great 38 special taper crimp die set up to be "case kicker friendly" for me.
