Stars Want to Sell/Want to Buy / Re: Brewster Indexer on GunBroker

Reviewed that decades ago.  Did significant damage as the case dragged across the surface underneath it as I recall.

Pictures would help.

Star Reloaders / Re: NEW PARTS SOURCE FOR STAR MACHINE WORKS

In my view, Bill Cunningham was the worst thing that even happened to the Star.  After years of neglect, Cummingham has all but kill this grand old machine off.  Who cares what he does next!

What did the Chevron in was a unit called the Freeloader.  Looked like two simple funnels inside each other.  No moving parts.  No motor.  Worked perfectly and cost, as I remember, almost nothing.

The powder measure tubes with a slide shut off that was on the bottom of the tube , above the threaded nipple ?

The CPM had a shot off like that but I don't know if that is what this is.

Star Reloaders / Re: TURRET ???

Looks like a Brewster primer turret.  The device sits on top of a star primer tube.  Back when they were made I talked to a fellow who had an explosion.  The star primer tube help but the Brewster turret did not.  It exploded.  Blew out all the lights in his workroom and started a few small fires.  Also cut up the top of his head a bit.

I had one on load from Brewster along with one of their automatic indexers.  Didn't recommend either device.

I gave my pictures to Ken Neely at http://www.antiquereloadingtools.com/forum/index.php?sid=93e63bb4686edd3b31a784c8eb48b1f5  You could try asking him.

According to my old invoices, I bought tools heads in 32 ACP, 32 S&W Long and 475 Wildey.  There was a lot of the more standard stuff, but these are the oddballs I found invoices for.

The Chevron, as I recall, was killed off by a much better unit.  No moving parts.  Kind of like two funnels inside each other.  I think the name was the Freeloader, but I could be wrong about that.

I did, obviously.  And I really liked that thing.  I believe that it was sold, along with almost all of my reloading equipment, to Ron Peterson of Ron Peterson Guns in Albuquerque, about fourteen years ago.  Ron might still have it.

Though I no longer remember the name of the fellow who made this, I do remember talking to him years later.  He said that very few were sold.

Ken has my complete press photo collection.  So I suppose one could get the pictures to illustrate such an article.

However as I get older my memory of this stuff is starting to slip.
