Very nice :o, but it looks like you need to come down half a click  ;)

I did on the next target and shot a 98-5x.   :(  I ended up with a 825-25X because my first two slow fires were terrible.

Okay, if we're going to attach photos.  I shot this with my Clark at a 2700 Bullseye match in Dallas on the timed fire stage at 25 yards.  ;D   This was with the Remington bullet and my BE load of 2.7 grains.  I do taper crimp them for the Clark.  I used to do a slight roll crimp but found it was not needed.

I found with my Clark 1911A1 .38 Special, that if I went over 700 fps with any swaged bullet, I would get some leading.  Right now I'm using 2.7 grains of Bullseye with Remington's 148 grain HBWC and it seems to work pretty well.

Looking at the WST load at the website above, I would suggest starting with the minimum load and see how it works.  Their max load is over 700 fps so I would just check on leading if you have to go that high.

You shouldn't need to trim cases.  I never have for light pistol loads; the brass just doesn't seem to grow like it does with rifle loads.

I seat the Rem bullet just slightly below the case rim, which is what the factory load looks like.

Stars Want to Sell/Want to Buy / Re: die and expander nuts, # 17 & 19

The 69 is for the small stem die.  The 69U for the larger stem.  My .45 ACP press has the older, small stem on the taper crimp die, so it requires the small nut.

You should be able to get a die from these folks, since they're making the Star now.

Some Winchester cases (marked NT) use small pistol primers rather than large pistol primers.  NT = Non Toxic.  I haven't heard of Federal doing the same thing, but maybe that's what you have.

Good info but I don't have a 1911 (yet) what I shoot is a springfield XD 45 with the 4 in brl. My question is about these new bullet heads I just got and there doesn't seem to be any load data on them. There is plenty of info on a 200 gr Lead SWC but not a RNFP.

The RNFP bullet is used in the .45 Colt, that's why you won't see any data for it.  Having said that, I have loaded them in .45 ACP cases and used them in my Gold Cup and Clark without any problems.  I just used the .45 ACP data and made sure I taper crimped them rather than roll crimping into the crimp groove on the bullet.

Glad you're okay.  Of course, it just shows how well they built Star presses.

I went in 2007 for the pistol matches and to receive my Distinguished Pistol Medal on stage at the awards ceremony.  Had a really great time.  I'm going back next year to shoot the CMP rifle matches with some of the Texas State team guys if all goes well.

His info is at www.starmachineworks.com.  He has a parts diagram on the site as well.

I'm loading a 200 grain SWC from Bullet Works in Breckenridge (which is the same as your bullet) with 3.5 grains of Bullseye.  I taper crimp mine so the diameter is .472 and they work just fine.  I've been using that amount of crimp for a very long time and have never had any problems.

Richard Daniels, who is on this forum, makes powder magazine cut-offs and adj powder slides.  You can reach him at rdaniels36 "at" cox.net or you can call him at 860-966-0639.  I have one of his adj powder slides and a replacement powder mag.  He does very nice work.

The max load of 231 with a 90 grain jacketed bullet is 5.2 grains, the max with a 115 grain bullet would be 4.9, so you're okay with those types of bullets and that load of 4.8 grains of 231.    That powder slide should throw around 4.1 grains of Unique.  You might check your loading manual for loads/bullets that would work in that range.  My Lyman manual shows a Unique load of 3.5 to 4.0 grains with a 130 grain lead bullet.

Pillow case works just fine.  Plastic trash bags are a bad idea here (Texas) because of the humidity.
