Hello:
My 52 worked good with a taper crimp .  The die was supplied by a member of the forum and was beautiful work.

Hello:
I use a large hole in the bench, a funnel under the hole and inserted into a gallon milk bottle.  Change the bottle when full. The bottle is supported so that the funnel is close to the bottom of the bench.
Cheers

Welcome to the site:
There are many knowledgeable people on the site who will cheerfully answer your questions as they come up.  This is a good place to buy a Star Reloader or two also.
Enjoy

Star Reloaders / Re: Primer Feed
« on: August 31, 2012, 08:15:12 pm »
Hi Dale:
I was able to correct the problem with a different primer slide.  I have noticed the some brands of primers feed better than others.  A small burr on the top edge of the cup will hang things up.

Greetings:
No problem. Just adjust the dies to flare, seat and crimp on the longer case.  Back in the day,  I reloaded a lot of both for the Sherrif's Posse.

Greetings:
For what it is worth;  I went the drill and tap route and am very happy with the results.  Excellent workmanship on the head and the taper crimp die.  My machinist neighbor was impressed.

As near as I could tell,  the picture loaded in 3 seconds.  I don't know enough to be any help as I am not a child of the computer age.

This picture shows how I bent a piece of spring wire to position the cartridge under the taper crimp die.  Use only enough tension to place the cartridge with out tipping it and keep the spring low on the case.

Greetings:
I brought up several pictures after reading your post.  The time span was one and a half to two seconds on my lap top.  I don't have a basis for comparison but that seems to be about what I am used too.

Greetings:
Thank you all.  Much usefull information.  I do trim to get a more uniform taper crimp.  The timed fire target was fired indoors in "01".  The slow fire was shot in the wind at Perry in "91".  Federal Factory for both targets.
